WRITTEN BY KATE GISLASON – SUSTAINABILITY ENGAGEMENT LEAD
We were thrilled to welcome Minister for the Environment, Penny Simmonds, to EcoCentral’s EcoSort facility! Minister Simmonds joined us for an exclusive tour to check out the recent $16.8 million upgrade to our facility, where we showcased our state-of-the-art sorting technology. These recent upgrades were made possible by funding from the Ministry for the Environment | Manatū mō te Taiao.
The upgrades at EcoSort are designed to maximise quality output, and we’re proud to say that our facility is now recognised worldwide for excellence in resource recovery. Using advanced optical sorters and multiple layers of quality control, we ensure that our bales are an impressive 99.8% free of contamination. This sets a new benchmark for environmental stewardship.
During the tour, Minister Simmonds saw firsthand how dedicated we are to making a positive impact on resource recovery in Canterbury. Her visit was a fantastic opportunity for us to demonstrate the hard work and commitment of the EcoCentral team.
We’re incredibly thankful to Minister Simmonds for her recognition and support. It’s inspiring to have our efforts acknowledged by such a prominent figure in the fight for a sustainable future.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and lead the way in environmental stewardship!
